Parc Ela at a glance

659 square kilometres of natural fascination: one third of Parc Ela is untouched landscape. One that encompasses peaks like the Piz Lunghin which sends its waters on a voyage to three oceans. Or the magical Alp Flix – with over 2000 species of plant and animal, a veritable treasure island of biodiversity.

The culture landscape is shaped by historic transportation routes, mighty fortresses and 6 authentic villages that have all retained their very own charm. Three cultures and three languages (German, Rhaeto-Romanic and Italian) meet in a region that is over three times the size of the national park.

The “Red Train” impressively demonstrates the harmonious interplay between man and nature: this section of the Rhaetian Railway in the Parc Ela is part of Unesco World Heritage listed terrain.
