Intro
The Aare Lauf & Aare Trail combines movement, nature and community – from flat routes along the Aare to trails over the Jura ridge, with distances from 10 to 50 km.
The Aare Lauf & Aare Trail is a unique running event in the heart of the canton of Aargau, attracting runners from all over Switzerland and abroad every year.
The Aare Lauf follows a flat, scenic route along the River Aare through picturesque landscapes between Brugg, Auenstein and Aarau – ideal for beginners as well as those aiming for fast times or new personal bests.
With the Aare Trail, the event expands to include two exciting distances along the Jura ridge:
The 30 km Trail is perfect for trail beginners, while the 50 km Trail crosses the highest point of the canton of Aargau, offering experienced runners a real adventure with forest paths, elevation gain and stunning views.
Thanks to the introduction of 10 km Nordic Walking and a clear focus on sustainable, nature-oriented routes, the event appeals to a wide audience – from recreational runners to ambitious trail athletes.
With more than 1,500 participants in 2025, the Aare Lauf & Aare Trail has become one of the most popular running events in the region.
