Exhibition: Welfare and Coercion in Switzerland
Overview
Intro
I was just nobody
An exhibition in a public space featuring a participatory project. In a compelling and accessible way, it sheds light on a long-suppressed chapter of Swiss history: the compulsory welfare measures that affected hundreds of thousands of children, adolescents, and adults. The exhibition highlights the tension between social welfare and coercion, gives a voice to those affected, and fosters empathy for people who were—and still are—on the margins of society. It takes a critical look at both the past and the present.
