DEAD ENDS & Dolci
Overview
Intro
DEAD ENDS & Dolci is a bikepacking adventure to discover the most authentic and surprising side of Ticino.
From October 2 to 4, 2026, starting in Bellinzona, participants will tackle approximately 500 kilometers and 9,000 meters of elevation gain, pedaling self-supported along secondary roads, off-road sections, remote valleys, ancient villages, and spectacular climbs immersed in the Ticino landscape.
The event's unique feature is its "free route" formula: there is no predetermined itinerary. Cyclists must reach all mandatory checkpoints, independently choosing the order and best route to connect them.
A challenge that leaves room for strategy, exploration, and a spirit of adventure. And at the end of the dead-end roads comes the sweetest part: local specialties await participants, a delicious reward to recharge and discover the region through its flavors.
There are 5 checkpoints, one in each tourist region (Mendrisiotto, Luganese, Locarnese, Bellinzona e Valli and Mesolcina). Their locations will be announced to participants one month before the event, at the beginning of September, giving them one month to plan their route.
An experience combining gravel, mountain biking, nature, and gastronomy, designed to experience Ticino on two wheels from a decidedly out-of-the-ordinary perspective.
