HAHA: Humor as an Artistic Strategy
Overview
Intro
The Dogo Residenz is presenting works in the Seitenwagen that explore HAHA—humor as an artistic strategy: subversive, critical, and playful.
The Dogo Residenz Visits the Seitenwagen
Featuring: Alice Köppel, Dana Ferrari, Lily Pellaud, Lino Stirnimann, and Thom Driver
Humor connects, exposes, and challenges. It can highlight injustices, reverse power dynamics, and playfully question social norms. Humor is a means of subversively engaging with existing structures while simultaneously creating moments of collective merriment and relief—especially in challenging times.
For the year 2026, the Dogo Residency invited eleven artists to engage with current artistic issues under the thematic focus HAHA—Humor as an Artistic Strategy. The works created during the residency will be presented to the public twice as part of the “Seitenwagen” event series, in collaboration with the Kunst(Zeug)Haus Rapperswil-Jona. On September 6, we will open the first of the two group exhibitions.
