Nassa Sunday Swing
Overview
Intro
On Sunday, 13 September 2026, from 11:00 a.m.
Just a few steps from Via Nassa, the New Azzan Big Band will bring all the power and colour of a full big band to the city centre, with a programme spanning a wide range of styles and moods. From the great jazz classic How High the Moon and the timeless elegance of Night and Day, to the Latin charm of Mas Que Nada, Sofrito and Pioggia di Marzo, followed by the irresistible rhythm of Sway, some of Stevie Wonder’s greatest hits and the sophisticated swing of The Lady Is a Tramp.
Joining us once again on this musical journey will be the warm voices of Francesca Parrotta and Claudio Borroni, while Claudio Belloni’s artistic direction will lead the New Azzan Big Band through a repertoire designed to showcase the full range of colours, nuances and energy of the ensemble.
It will be the perfect way to enjoy a Sunday morning in the heart of Lugano: a stroll through the city-centre streets, the elegant atmosphere of Piazzetta San Carlo and the sound of the big band providing the soundtrack. For a few hours, “Nassa Sunday Swing” will transform one of the city’s most charming corners into an open-air stage, where swing, jazz and Latin sounds can connect not only with music lovers, but also with anyone who simply happens to be walking through the centre and lets themselves be surprised by the music.
