Pfannenstiel Tower
Overview
Intro
The Pfannenstiel Tower was renovated in the summer of 2013 and has a turbulent history: The steel lattice tower was originally built on Bachtel mountain in 1893. Since it was not suitable as an aerial mast, it was reconstructed on the Pfannenstiel in 1992.
In 1979 the Zurich Governing Council added the 31-meter tower to the list of structures under landmark protection. At its new location on the Pfannenstiel it offers stunning views from the top. An information sign with the names and outlines of the mountains visible from the tower was installed on the viewing platform of the Pfannestiel Tower.
