Intro

Flowers meet art. At the Kunsthaus Aarau, flower arrangers create floral interpretations of specially selected works of art. The museum is transformed into a colourful sea of flowers each spring.

The Kunsthaus Aarau will impress visitors with its extraordinary architecture. This includes the old building as well as the new extension, opened in 2003 and realised by the architects Herzog & de Meuron. It blossoms every March to match the season. During the “Flowers for Art” exhibition, classical to contemporary works of art from the museum’s collection are expanded and interpreted with installations made of blossoms, branches and buds. National and international florists show their responses to the works, creating surprising perspectives.

A varied accompanying programme rounds off the floral art experience.

Tours held in tandem with experts from art history and floristry provide an interesting insight and let you discover the installations from new perspectives. Early booking is advised!
In workshops, people of all ages can learn about flower arranging and try it out for themselves.
For those interested in art, there are also exciting opportunities to hear from Swiss artists.

The tenth exhibition will take place from 5 to 10 March 2024.
