Panorama Bike
Overview
Intro
Lake Constance is the most striking feature on the first stage of the Panorama Bike route. It starts in Rorschach right on the shores of the lake and ends in the middle of the picture-perfect Appenzell region.
Description
The higher you climb up Rorschacherberg, the more impressive Lake Constance looks. We still remember the sound of its waves lapping at the shore and now we see it from the top as it appears in all its glory. While we still look down at the lake in awe during the climb, another eye-catcher is emerging just in front of us: the Säntis mountain. The rocky giant overlooks the lovely Appenzell region which we are crisscrossing on rural and gravel roads, past farmhouses lovingly decorated with flowers, grazing cows, accompanied by gurgling creeks and birdsong. It seems like a different world and our destination, the village of Trogen, fits right in.
The first stage is symbolic for the entire Panorama Bike route from Rorschach to Montreux. It is not the abundance of spectacular single trails or the fun of downhill runs that make it so attractive. It is the beauty of the countryside, pure and simple.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
