Intro

The stage is partially closed. This stage explores the Lötschental (Lötschen Valley) with its larch forests, an especially spectacular sight in autumn. A flowing single trail down into the valley and views of the imposing Bietschhorn are the rewards after a long ascent.

Description

The Regio-Express Lötschberger runs from Brig to Goppenstein; the bus then takes the bikers to the start in Wiler. Once arrived, the legs are put to the test right away: to reach the Lauchernalp mountain station, you must overcome an altitude difference of 700 metres on the paved road with ten hairpin bends. However, the views of the Bietschhorn are breathtaking. After all that effort, a refuelling stop at the restaurant next to the cable car beckons.

The route continues across the Milibach and passes along the slope to Fischbiel. Now it's just one more kilometre until you reach Netzbord, where the fun downhill ride begins. The playful, flowing single trail winds its way down to Weissenried, onwards to Ried and across the river.

The stage ends in Blatten in the heart of the magical Lötschental. The main village of the valley's largest municipality lies nestled amid spectacular nature. Due to the valley's former remoteness, Blatten, with its sun-darkened wooden houses and typical barns, managed to preserve its unique charm. Tip: its golden larch forests make the Lötschental an especially spectacular place in autumn – planning this mountain biking tour during that time would be well worth it.

An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
