The Staubbach Falls at a glance
The Staubbach Falls is the landmark of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. It plunges an impressive 297 meters over vertical rock faces into the depths. It carries the most water in early summer. A path leads through the steep wall close to the waterfall. The best photo spots can be found in Lauterbrunnen and on the other side of the valley in Wengen.
What to experience
Experience the Staubbach Falls (30 minutes)
From Lauterbrunnen, a short path leads directly to the foot of the Staubbach Falls. You are amazed at how the water plunges into the depths in free fall. The water falls spectacularly into the depths and turns into fine mist in the air. An unforgettable sight, framed by the backdrop of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Jungfrau massif.
- Good to know: In summer, the Staubbach Falls are illuminated in the evening.
- Tip: There is a picnic and playground next to the car park in Lauterbrunnen.
Climb the Staubbach Gallery (30 minutes)
From the foot of the Staubbach Falls, a path leads directly into the rock face. You will cross a tunnel and get very close to the waterfall via stairs and a secured path. You will feel the fine drizzle and enjoy the view of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the surrounding mountains.
- Good to know: Walkable from May to October. A rain jacket is recommended.
- Tip: Go there in the morning or evening – calm and optimal light for photos.
