When you find the perfect spot, it’s time for “Let’s cheese”. Unpack the fondue rucksack and tuck into the delicious cheese fondue.
The fondue rucksacks are produced by Kündig Feinkost, a company that has put selling cheese and fine produce at the heart of its business for almost 100 years, alongside cheese aging. This is not just any blend of cheeses; it is made from local cheeses that have been produced with love. “Let’s cheese” is an indulgent experience, including white wine and a tablecloth that you can lay down wherever you choose.
You are spoiled for choice in St. Gallen. Will you opt for the old town with its Abbey district, which been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and idyllic parks, or maybe the Drei Weieren (Three Ponds) natural swimming area? If you are drawn to the pretty harbour town of Rorschach, you can indulge down by the lakeside promenade and take a dip in Lake Constance. Or take the Appenzell Railway up the Rorschacherberg and from there enjoy spectacular views of Rorschach and Lake Constance.
You can collect your fondue rucksack from Kündig Feinkost in St. Gallen or Rorschach. It includes a fondue mix, caquelon pot and heater, bread, white wine, a tablecloth, forks and glasses, plus instructions for assembly and use. You can book yours online, and it is available in two sizes, to serve 1–2 or 3–4 people.
