The most memorable moments of your wedding day?

Some of our favorite moments easily came from the pyro powder and our after-party instant noodle station. We had an explosion of color powder go off at the very moment we had our first kiss, which made for an amazing visual and a memorable moment. In addition, we brought a touch of Indonesian culture into our after-party by serving our country’s famous and incredibly delicious instant noodles, Indomie; we had hotel staff set up a station to cook fresh Indomie for our guests during the after-party and every one of them have told us that it was the highlight of their night. Ultimately, the real highlight for us was the intimacy of having all our closest family and friends present to celebrate our union. We’re so fortunate that we got to talk with, spend quality time with, and have fun with every single guest during the entire weekend. We loved the closeness that we shared with our family during our private moments, and Nicole especially cherishes the heartfelt moment she shared with her father during the first look.

Zurich has wonderful parts of both a modern and old city...The scenic walks by the river against a backdrop of distant snowcapped mountains made for a romantic atmosphere, but the abundance of shops and fantastic restaurants might have made us city-folk feel right at home.

Why choosing Switzerland?

To be honest, Switzerland wasn't our first consideration for a wedding destination. In fact, we hadn't even considered it at all. But when we happened to visit the country a year prior, we felt that it was as beautiful as it was impossible to say no. Zurich has wonderful parts of both a modern and old city; this is literally represented in the city’s separation of old town and new town. The scenic walks by the river against a backdrop of distant snowcapped mountains made for a romantic atmosphere, but the abundance of shops and fantastic restaurants might have made us city-folk feel right at home. This unique blend that we found charming is reflected in why we chose to be wed at The Dolder Grand. We wanted us and our guests to have plenty to do and see in the city, but loved that the hotel itself was in a more scenic and private location away from the heart of Zurich. And The Dolder Grand was so beautiful that while we loved that our guests had an entire city to explore, we maybe loved even more that they felt like they never wanted to leave.
