Dogs and cats traveling to Switzerland from abroad require a vaccination certificate stating that the animal is vaccinated against rabies. The vaccination must be made at least 30 days prior to entry and should not be more than 1 year old, This also applies to dogs and cats that are returning to Switzerland after a temporary absence.

Dogs, cats and ferrets have had to be identified with a microchip.
