Nature Lab – Working and Researching in the Mountains
Overview
Intro
On expeditions around Villa Cassel, we explore nature in all its diversity and take a close look at even the smallest creatures.
On our explorations around Villa Cassel, we discover nature in all its diversity and take a close look at even the tiniest creatures. We collect natural objects which we then use in the workshop to print, craft and carve. On Friday between 1:00 and 1:45 p.m., participants meet at the centre. Then we set off together to explore the Aletsch Forest in a playful way, using all our senses. Summer-green larches, fragrant Swiss pine cones, inconspicuous glacier traces or industrious spotted nutcrackers – what will we discover along the way? After a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning, the children become insect researchers and herb collectors in the mountain meadows around Villa Cassel. The collected finds are then examined, studied and processed in the nature workshop – what might all be created here? The adults have a choice: they can explore the Aletsch region on their own or join the children on their explorations. The programme ends at around 5:30 p.m. in front of Villa Cassel. On Sunday, we set off together at daybreak for wildlife observation. With a bit of luck, we might see deer and chamois. After breakfast at around 10:00 a.m., the weekend comes to an end.
