Intro
The former Capuchin monastery has been transformed into an inspiring hotel; sophisticated architecture housed within old walls; 14 stylish rooms, all with a view of the Buochserhorn; top-quality box spring beds. The focus is on exquisite, alpine cuisine. Wide range of courses available, six seminar rooms, gardens. Historic dining room, comfortable outdoor seating.
In the former Capuchin monastery, the Culinarium Alpinum opened in 2020 after a soft renovation. In the former refectory, todays restaurant, is the regional authenticity predominantly and worked with authentic, unadulterated regional products from Central Switzerland, with a preference for organically grown ingredients complemented by products from Switzerland. It has 14 simple stylishly renovated rooms, all with a box-spring bed (double or twin) with an en-suite bathroom with shower. Parking is available directly in our courtyard. Further, you will find the Alpsbrinz-cellar, home of a real local cheese, a monastery shop with local products and the edible landscape, with around 250 varieties of fruits and berries.

Swiss Historic Hotel
The Chief Magistrate of Nidwalden had the monastery built in 1583, and Capuchin monks lived here until 2004. Today's Culinarium Alpinum is an innovative total work of art. The historic structure was modernised and extended and the monks' cells were turned into stylish hostel accommodation and seminar rooms. The restaurant in the former refectory only serves specialities with Swiss products. Vaulted cellar with monastery shop and Alpsbrinz cheese store. Over 250 types of berries and fruit grow in the monastery garden, all part of the centre of culinary expertise.
