Intro

For almost 100 years, Swiss Youth Hostels have been the first port of call for budget-conscious and environmentally minded travellers. The hostels ensure not only lasting memories of your holiday and leisure activities, but also encounters with like-minded people. Discover the diversity of the youth hostels here.

Bern Youth Hostel

The Bern Youth Hostel is worthy of a capital city. The listed hostel with a view of the Aare river loop has also been offering its guests a bright extension with seminar rooms and a garden seating area since April 2018. Activities such as visiting the Federal Parliament Building with its 26 water fountains, looking for bears in the bear park, swimming in the Aare river, biking on the Gurten or simply shopping in the old town make for a perfect stay.

We really like the design of the Swiss Youth Hostel in Bern. And the location is just perfect. The Aare is right on your doorstep. The famous Zytglogge clock tower in the heart of the city is close by.

Guests will be delighted by the tempting range of recreational activities on offer: swimming fun in the shimmering turquoise Lake Brienz, walks along the lake promenade, a view of the alpine panorama from the oldest steam cog railway on the Brienz Rothorn Railway, or a journey through time in the Open-Air Museum Ballenberg.

Grindelwald Youth Hostel

Sun terrace with majestic mountain panorama: the youth hostel at Grindelwald offers unparalleled views of the Eiger. The Jungfraujoch, the area around the Aletsch Glacier and the infamous Eiger North Face attract visitors to the Bernese Oberland from all over the world every year. Whether you like things rustic and cosy in the chalet, modern and bright in the new building, or romantic and hidden away in the Waldhüsli hut, everyone will enjoy a good night’s sleep here.

The view from Grindelwald Youth Hostel is simply one of a kind! We also like the contrast between the chalet style in the main building and the modern style of the new building. Visiting the cliff walk on the First was a real highlight.
