Kandertal and Kiental are located in the Bernese Oberland. At Blausee near Kandersteg, you can see submerged tree trunks through the clear water. Above Kandersteg lies Lake Oeschinen, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Kiental, a PostBus takes you along a steep mountain road to Griesalp.

Traveling from Lake Thun in a westerly direction, the Simmen Valley opens up. The pyramid-shaped Niesen and the Stockhorn preside over the imposing entrance to the valley. The hiking-mountain and vantage point beckon with an imposing panoramic view of 200 peaks.

The Diemtigtal, winner of the 1986 Wakker Award, is an idyllic, 16-km long side valley of the Simmental Valley, which is noted for its natural beauty. There are many offers, which are compatible with sustainable tourism, all of them ideal for families and vacationers in search of rest and relaxation.

The tradition-imbued, Bernese Oberland holiday resort of Meiringen lies in the Hasli valley, south east of Lake Brienz. Sherlock Holmes met his maker here – only to be resurrected again several years later. In actual fact, Meiringen-Hasliberg almost offers the unbelievable – and not only in respect of its most famous fictional hero.

The Jungfrau Region is up there with the best of them: be inspired by the largest glacier and the highest upper station in the Alps on the Jungfraujoch. Marvel at the most impressive waterfalls, and enjoy idyllic mountain villages and the ideal conditions for winter sports.

Simply grand. A slight haze tints quiet rivers with subtle pastel hues. Impressively vast roofs shelter prosperous Emmental farmhouses. Or a stroll through Bern along six kilometres of arcades lining the streets of the old city. The Axalp is a clearing at an altitude of about 1535 m above sea level in the municipality of Brienz. Axalp can be reached by PostBus or car in 35 minutes from Brienz. Both in summer as a wonderful hiking area and in winter as a ski area a wonderful experience.
