From May 1st to June 1st, collect your active minutes!
The "Coop Community Duel" is the largest national program to promote more physical activity among the Swiss population.
The project in brief:
Every May, around 200 communities, in collaboration with clubs, schools, and private individuals, organize sports and exercise opportunities for the population. Silvaplana collects minutes of physical activity for their community, thus helping it achieve the title of "Most Active Community in Switzerland." The three "Most Active" communities in each category will be awarded a cash prize, which will be used for a sports project in the community. The money is offered by the national partners Coop and Groupe Mutuel.
It's an event for everyone; the focus is on the fun of exercise. We deliberately measure exercise time rather than participant performance to ensure everyone can participate.
The goal isn't to offer or organize additional sports programs, but to promote existing ones and increase communication. Walks along the picturesque Lej Suot, refreshing jogs to the majestic da Schinellas waterfall, or group fitness classes with like-minded people - every single minute of exercise counts in our duel!
Collect exercise minutes - here's how it works:
- Download the "Coop Community Duel" app (free of charge).
- Create a user account and select your own (residential) municipality.
- Record all exercise activities using the stopwatch in the app.
- The accumulated exercise minutes count toward your municipality, your personal statistics, and your personal duels.
