Description
The scenery from the Bistro Birg seems breathtakingly unreal. The stereotypically beautiful landscape of the Bernese Oberland can already be admired from the cable car on the way to the Birg middle station on the Schilthorn. The skyline of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks simply outshine everything.
Ambience
A trip to the Birg station, perched like an eyrie above the landscape, is not only worthwhile due to both its sheltered, partly staffed sun terrace and the staffed restaurant with its modern building, but also because of the Skyline Walk platform. This extension of the sun terrace offers not only views over the surrounding mountains, but also over the abyss.
Cuisine
Cheese and dried meat platters, a choice of salads, spaghetti Bolognese or Napoli, breaded pork escalope or chicken nuggets with chips, pork sausage with Rösti, Alpine macaroni with apple puree, vegetable Strudel with a salad, cheese fondue, raclette, fruit cakes and gateaux. Self-service facility “Quick Corner“ on the terrace with grill and Wok station (only during good weather).
Location
Cated at the striking cliff of Birg, at 2,677 metres above sea level, at the foot of the Schilthorn summit.
