Intro
The Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway takes visitors back to the golden age of steam railways in Switzerland.
Take a journey in over 100-year-old steam locomotives with combined adhesion and rack drive of Swiss design. The restored first and second-class passenger cars from the 1930s take you from from Realp through the magnificent mountain landscape of the Central Alps and on over the historic route of Glacier Express to Oberwald in Canton Valais. The intermediate stop at Furka station takes travellers to the routes highest point of 2,160 metres a.s.l.
