Chemin Nods–L'Aiguillon
Overview
Intro
At the foot of the Chasseral, the summit of which reaches a height of 1,607 m, this pleasant circular winter walk between Nods and l'Aiguillon offers a magnificent view over the plateau and part of the Alps, all in a dream-like natural setting.
Description
When you leave the car park on the Chasseral road, this winter walk sets off towards l'Aiguillon along a forest track typical of the Bernese Jura surrounded mainly by spruce, oak and hazels.
The second part of the walk takes you downhill between the Chasseral massif and Mont-Sujet in the heart of the grasslands known as the Prés Vaillons which is a location well suited to cross-country skiing. With a bit of luck on this part of your walk you will meet deer or hares, two animals which are relatively common around the Chasseral. However, you never see them for long! After several kilometres descent you will pass alongside a meadow dotted with trees which then opens up to let you see the village of Nods and if the weather is clear, the chain of the Alps in the distance.
Specially for gourmets: delicious local food products bearing the quality food label can be purchased from the Fromagerie de Nods.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
