Description
The village of Lenk is located right at the top in Simmental, at the foot of the mighty Wildstrubel. If the cross-country ski trails in the vast valley floor are slowly exposed in the spring, this does not mean that the Lenk cross-country skiing season is over: On Betelberg, the high altitude cross-country ski trail of Haslerberg waits to be discovered.
You can take the gondola to the top station of Leiterli; the start of the cross-country ski trail can be reached by a ten minutes' walk or – for experienced skiers – on the cross-country ski. Adapted affectionately and harmonically to the terrain, the high altitude cross-country ski trail of Haslerberg leads through a varied landscape. It meanders past the fascinating Gryden, a crater-like primeval landscape formed over thousands of years. This is pervaded with furrows despite the thick snow cover. The panorama is also impressive: You gaze into the stretch to Albristhorn and the Spillgerte to the North.
The cross-country ski trail offers many gentle ascents and descents. If you have not yet exhausted yourself enough, you can optionally make a bigger round, which has a long and steeper ascent. This is a real deal – particularly because oxygen can already be less at a height of 1800 metres above sea level.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
