Intro
Houses, hay barns and Alpine huts stand out as lonely dark spots in the hilly countryside, telling the story of the Walsers who came from Valais in the 14th century: they cleared the forests and worked long and hard to cultivate the hostile terrain.
Description
Starting in Valendas or Versam, the trail leads via Tenna and Safien Platz to Turrahus. You will get to know the typical Safien settlements with their homes, stables, barns and alpine huts.
The individual stages can be enjoyed as day-tours or as multi-day hikes. En route, you will encounter six beautiful churches and a small local history museum. You will hike through marvelous cultural landscapes and enjoy pristine nature.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
