Thurweg
Overview
Intro
The Thur flows between the Churfirsten and Säntis Massif through the Canton of St. Gallen toward the canton to which it has lent its name. A well-known personality, Ulrich Bräker (1735-1798) was a citizen of Wattwil. Why not read his lifestory “The Poor Man of Tokkenburg“ (“Der arme Mann vom Tokkenburg”) as spiritual preparation? In any case, the fantastic landscape in the green valley can be thoroughly enjoyed at all times.
Description
The section between Nesslau and Wattwil is the most beautiful of the entire Thur Trail that extends 60 kilometers from Wildhaus down to Wil. The trail mostly runs directly along the Thur. Up to Krummenau on the left bank and up to the Rickenhof, shortly before Wattwil on the right bank. That the trail is excellently marked certainly does not detract from the hiking pleasure. A fabulous hike that will be immensely enjoyed by the entire family.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
