Intro

The history of viticulture in the canton of Schaffhausen dates back to the Roman era. Monks contributed significantly to the spread of wine cultivation and Schaffhausen became Switzerland’s most important supplier of wine.

The grape harvest is the culmination of the wine year – the vintner anxiously awaits the result of his yearlong efforts. In the Wine Museum visitors are acquainted with the development of the grape through the seasons.

A happy mood prevails in the cozy inn – fostered by the historic décor as well as a glass of Schaffhausen’s excellent wine.
