Located in a former convent, this hotel is a singular experience. Located quietly and proudly in Lake Biel on St Petersinsel [St Peter Island], it has 13 authentic rooms, each offering an individual experience of different periods. All have been redesigned with much respect for the historical structure. The culinary offerings are shaped by the products and recipes of the surrounding area and its monastic past. Their own island wine and Natura Beef supplied by the island's farmers have become an integral part of the menu.

Description

The St. Peters Island is the jewel in the lake of Bienne. It was developed in the last ice age, when the Rhône glacier in its extension reached the Jura. To find peace and be touched by the breath of history at the same time: Our hotel with its 13 unique rooms and 27 beds invites for longer stays and to a deepened Island experience. The seclusion of this peninsula provides also the ideal surroundings for seminars and conferences. With the Gothic Hall, a dignified and practically equipped room is available. For the well-being of our guests the restaurant is led with care and provides an inviting atmosphere. In five different stylish halls fish specialties and other rich menus are served, accompanied by full-bodied wines from the whole world.

The Baroque pavilion on the highest point of St. Peter’s Island, five minutes’ walk from themonastery hotel, offers the most beautiful views of Lake Biel. Enjoy an aperitif before or after your civil ceremony, or organise your welcome drinks in the heart of nature. Alternatively, you can exchange vows under the open sky directly on the beautiful shores of Lake Biel.

Formerly a Cluniac monastery, here monastic simplicity is combined with a modern appreciation of style. Getting there

The hotel is just 50 metres from the lakeshore and the ferry port. Erlach, the nearest village on the lakeshore, is 15 km from Murten and Neuchâtel, and 24 km from Biel. Please note that the hotel is located on a traffic-free island. It can be reached by ferry from Biel and other places around the lake, as well as by the hotel¿s private boat (available on request). Guests arriving by car can park next to the ferry port in Erlach, the nearest village (at a cost).
