Schwenden is located in the Bernese Oberland, at the end of the Diemtigtal valley, around an hour from Bern. Grimmialp is part of the Diemtigtal Nature Park and is known for its peaceful location, traditional wooden houses and direct access to mountain trails, the Alps and a small ski area.

Well-maintained paths lead from the village of Schwenden to destinations such as Blauseeli or Alp Stierenberg. Families can follow the “Grimmimutz” adventure trail with play stations and puzzles. Particularly rewarding: the valley circular trail past typical Simmental houses, mountain streams and flowering pastures.
Chapel, Alps and crafts
The St. Niklaus chapel above Schwenden offers a beautiful view of the valley. In summer, numerous alps invite you to visit - here you can watch cheese being made or buy regional products directly. The Diemtigtal is also known for its richly decorated farmhouse architecture.
Hiking, skiing, tobogganing
In summer, marked hiking trails lead to the Seebergsee lake or up to the Spillgerte. Mountain bike routes start directly at the Grimmialp. In winter, there is a clearly laid out ski area with two chairlifts, classic and skating trails as well as groomed snowshoe trails and toboggan runs.

From Schwenden, you can reach other destinations in the Diemtigtal valley - such as the valley hiking trail along the young Simme river or the Nidegg sun terrace with its panoramic views.
