Intro

Grimmialp lies above the village of Schwenden at the far end of the rural Diemtigtal valley. This winter sports region is popular with families.

The Diemtigtal is the largest side valley branching off the Simmental. This 130-km2, 16-km-long valley is an idyllic side valley offering a wide range of options for sustainable tourism, especially for families and those seeking relaxation and tranquillity.

Winter

The Grimmialp winter sports region is geared towards families. There is a modern chairlift, a ski lift and a children’s lift. Snow fun of a rather different kind can be had on the 250m long snow-tubing run, which is accessed by a lift from the valley station at Grimmialp. There are tobogganing runs, a children’s snow playground called Schlaraffenland (land of plenty), a puzzle winter hiking trail, a natural ice rink and a cross-country run from Grimmialp to Zwischenflüh via Schwenden. The ski tour to the Rauflihorn is the best-known of many tours in the area.
The forked valley offers a wide range of activities for sustainable tourism, especially for families and those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. There are 200km of marked trails for hikers. The Grimmialp with its fun Grimmimutz adventure trail is particularly popular with families. The circular trail tells the tale of a friendly mythical forest dweller who loves nothing more than peace and nature. The Diemtigtaler Hausweg is a trail dedicated to the idyllic valley’s historic and valuable farmhouses. One section has its starting point at Schwenden near Grimmialp.
