Grimmialp lies above the village of Schwenden at the far end of the rural Diemtigtal valley. This winter sports region is popular with families.

The Diemtigtal is the largest side valley branching off the Simmental. This 130-km2, 16-km-long valley is a side valley offering a wide range of options for sustainable tourism, especially for families and those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. 


The Grimmialp winter sports region is geared towards families. There is a modern chairlift, a ski lift and a children’s lift.T he Grimmialp area also offers tobogganing fun, as well as a children's snow playground called "Land of plenty" and the 22 km cross-country ski trail from Grimmialp via Schwenden to Zwischenflüh. The ski tour to the Rauflihorn is the best-known of many tours in the area.


The forked valley offers a wide range of activities for sustainable tourism, especially for families and those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. There are 200km of marked trails for hikers. The Grimmialp with its fun Grimmimutz adventure trail is particularly popular with families. The circular trail tells the tale of a friendly mythical forest dweller who loves nothing more than peace and nature. The "Diemtigtaler Hausweg" is dedicated to the valuable farmhouses of the Diemtigtal. One of the three partial trails runs in the area around Schwenden/Grimmialp.
