A summer’s day around the Jet d’Eau
Overview
Intro
The sea is in Geneva, according to the locals. Standing on the banks of the lake basin, you do actually get this feeling.
And it comes as no surprise that the city continuously produces successful sailors. There is an ongoing love affair between Geneva and its lake. And it has become that much stronger with the addition of Eaux-Vives Beach.
Life plays out here in summer, and you can always see the city’s landmark, the Jet d’Eau, from here. Depending on the wind, the powerful fountain may send tiny droplets of water as far as the beach, being gently blown into the faces of locals and visitors alike. By this point at least, the feeling of being “by the seaside” is finally perfect.
More summer tips around the Jet d’Eau:
- Take a spin on Lake Geneva by pedalo or mini boat
- Lunch at the Restaurant de la Plage
- Bathing at Geneva’s beach
- An excursion aboard the Savoie lake steamer
