  • Navigate the locks to reach Eglisau

    Almost as soon as your trip begins at the Rhine Falls, you will experience the Rhine Falls from up close before gliding down the Rhine into the “Rhineland Amazon”. After around 30 minutes, your party will reach the Rheinau power station, where your boat will have to pass the first weir. This requires you to leave the boat and walk 100 metres along the track while the ship is pulled to the other side on a trolley – a truly unique spectacle!

The inspiration came from a desire to promote sustainability and offer guests a unique experience at breakfast. The beehives are carefully tended by a local beekeeper, who looks after the bees with great dedication and expertise. Through this initiative, we also aim to preserve the region’s long-standing tradition of honey production.

Designed by Sarah Rittmann, this miniature bee hotel mirrors the architecture, colors, and proportions of the original villa. Elevated on elegant stilts and equipped with a professional beekeeping system, it meets all standards for species-appropriate care. A hinged roof, single flight entrance, and space for ten Dadant frames make maintenance by a local beekeeper efficient and sustainable. Surrounded by nectar-rich blossoms, the Bee Edition offers ideal conditions for honeybees – all in a heritage-inspired setting.

    The magnificent limestone cliffs of Creux du Van (“van” means rock) form a rocky circle almost 200m high with a circumference of 1.4km. Together with the Areuse Gorge, the site has been a nature reserve since 1876. Upstream is Val-de-Travers, known for its terroir, history and numerous activities. Staff from the tourist information point at Noiraigue Station will be happy to provide more information. And, on its south side, the summit of Creux du Van also offers stunning views of the Alps.
