Winter village tour Churwalden
Aperçu
Introduction
Learn more about the tourism development and the history of the production of Bündnerfleisch
As early as 15 B.C., a significant alpine route passed through the valley, connecting north and south via the Septimer Pass. Drivers, merchants, and pilgrims brought prosperity, goods, and stories to the region. With the expansion of transport routes and the use of carriages, Churwalden gained further importance: large quantities of hay had to be provided for the over 800 carriage horses. The emerging spa tourism, the healthy alpine air, and regional specialties from the area are known beyond the region. Discover the origins of Bündner meat, surprising anecdotes, and fascinating personalities – a journey through the vibrant past of a special village.
