Das Vokalquartett Catharsis trägt in der Halle der Villa Morillon sakrale Lieder der orthodoxen Kirche vor. Im orthodoxen Gottesdienst werden traditionell keine Musikinstrumente verwendet.
Das Vokalquartett Catharsis trägt in der Halle der Villa Morillon sakrale Lieder der orthodoxen Kirche vor. Im orthodoxen Gottesdienst werden traditionell keine Musikinstrumente verwendet. Die menschliche Stimme gilt als das von Gott geschaffene, natürlichste und perfekteste Instrument für das Lob Gottes. Kirchenmusik ist gleich Kirchengesang. Obwohl der Ursprung oft einstimmig war, ist heute in vielen Traditionen der mehrstimmige Chorgesang (A-cappella) prägend, insbesondere in der russischen und osteuropäischen Tradition.
