뉴샤텔 식물원은 도시의 높은 언덕 위에 있어 연중 어느 때나 여유로운 산책을 즐기기 좋은 곳이다. 신선한 공기를 맡으며 토종 식물과 이국적인 식물을 관찰할 수 있는 곳이 도심에서 무척 가까운 곳에 있다.
Right from the outset, this peaceful place with expansive natural spaces at the foot of the Jura has been a place for relaxation and further education. In this park with idyllic gardens, ponds and streams, visitors quickly forget their hectic lifestyles and can recharge their batteries.
Right nearby, you’ll also find the Dürrenmatt Centre, which was built by internationally renowned architect Mario Botta and is well worth a visit. The former residence of Friedrich Dürrenmatt has been integrated into a new museum building showcasing the author’s manuscripts, paintings and drawings.
Just a few steps away from the Botanical Garden is the Path of Time. This hiking trail marked with wood sculptures invites visitors to go on a journey through time, all the way from the big bang through to the very first humans, with each metre corresponding to a million years.
