Bistro Theophilo: Getting older, but how? Aging well!

The Bistro Theophilo is not a new gastronomic venue in Surses, but rather a venue for events of the Protestant Reformed Parish for all denominations. After an impulse from the pastor, we exchange our questions and experiences on a current topic. Secular and religious themes alternate and often come up together. Coffee/Tea and pastries are also provided.

We all want to grow old – but no one wants to be old. A new word has recently become fashionable for this: "longevity." It means staying healthy and active for as long as possible. The trend emphasizes prevention rather than aftercare. A healthy lifestyle, modern medicine, and early detection are central to maximizing vital lifespan.

It is easily forgotten that aging can also have advantages. In Switzerland, people in their third life phase are among the happiest. They enjoy their decelerated daily lives, try new things, and engage themselves. According to studies, the vast majority of them feel great gratitude – even those who live with a limitation or have had to endure setbacks.
