Advent, that special time of year, is just around the corner. Countless Christmas markets are popping up all over the country. In sometimes inclement weather, many visitors rush past the goods on offer or stay away altogether because of the wet and cold, missing out on the beautiful twinkling lights. Not so in Engelberg. In the atmospheric setting of the beautiful Kursaal, curious visitors can stroll through the stalls of the Chlausmarkt in the warmth, without freezing their hands and feet. Whether cards, candles, decorations made of wood, metal, natural materials, baked goods, preserves, sewn or knitted items – most of the goods on offer are lovingly handmade. Delicious food and drinks are also available, which you can enjoy in the cozy warmth of the Chlausbeizli or, if you prefer, outside in the beautiful spa gardens. Of course, Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance in the afternoon.
Important information for dog owners: Dogs are not allowed in the Kursaal.
