Émotion Musicale has chosen to conclude its edition with an extraordinary encounter: a quartet... of cellos! Born in 2020 from the meeting of musicians from the cantons of Vaud and Valais, the Croma Quartet brings together Francesca Bongiorni, Lara Ferrando, Guillaume Bouillon and Théophane Ramet. Their name, Croma, evokes both color and the musical note, the perfect image to describe their approach: to offer audiences a palette of sounds ranging from the softest hues to the most vivid sparkles. Their repertoire is deliberately open-ended, ranging from timeless classical works to sometimes surprising contemporary creations, always chosen for their ability to move and arouse curiosity. They have performed in numerous musical seasons in French-speaking Switzerland (Aigle, Villeneuve...) and Italy, and also as part of Concerts du Cœur, projects that bring music to audiences with special needs: the elderly, hospitalized people or those in fragile situations. Francesca Bongiorni, Italian by birth, has enriched her playing with masters such as Giovanni Sollima, and performs with prestigious orchestras.Lara Ferrando has a wealth of experience in chamber music and orchestra, from the Montreux Jazz Festival to Geneva's Victoria Hall, while Guillaume Bouillon likes to combine the cello with other artistic disciplines, from theater to ice dancing.Théophane Ramet cultivates a particular taste for chamber music and cello ensembles, with a demanding and expressive repertoire.Le Croma Quartet is the warmth of four low strings, the complicit dialogue of four bows, and the assurance of a suspended moment, where music becomes both intimate and powerful.
