They “spill over,” escape oblivion, and remind the living of their presence. And sometimes, those who have left us come back to visit. The line between reality and mystery is thin. Through three texts inspired by anthropological accounts, the performance brings these overspills and encounters to life. When the boundary between the living and the dead cracks, on the fringes of our conventions and beliefs, unusual spaces emerge. The performance features a dancer with Down syndrome as part of a team of professional artists. Inclusion is not a symbolic gesture: physical uniqueness becomes a source of dramatic richness. It shifts the audience’s perspective. This inclusive approach also features a dancer over the age of 55. Her body carries memory, experience, and a powerful presence. Through storytelling, musical vibrations, and visual poetry, the audience is invited to enter a world where it is no longer clear whether the living or the ghosts truly inhabit the stage.
