With tap dancing and British humor, Jane Mumford tells of her goth teenage years full of self-doubt and world-weariness.
Wouldn't we all like to be 16 years old again? No, not all of us. Jane Mumford would rather not. As a child, the world still seemed magical to her, but as soon as she left elementary school, her world consisted only of tedious things like: wanting to be cool, having to fit in, trying to keep up, finding love - and at some point you have to achieve something before you die. So much to do. Overwhelmed, she spent her teenage years withdrawn as a tap-dancing goth rocker and now wonders whether she ever fully grew out of this teenage state. Because all the self-doubt, world-weariness and "overthinking" still haunt her today - in the very, very dark shadows of the night.
