Winner of the 2024 Ethnos Generazioni Award and the 2025 Andrea Parodi Award, Luisa Briguglio pursues a musical exploration that weaves together the Sicilian language, poetry and contemporary sensibilities. With Truvatura, her first solo album released by Liburia Records, she constructs a sonic universe in which folk tradition engages with diverse sensibilities and cultural references, evoking an image of a Sicily that is at once ancient, urban and open to the world.
Written predominantly in the Messina dialect, the songs on Truvatura draw on memories, folk tales and literary fragments, blending Mediterranean sounds with instruments from other musical traditions. The album’s title evokes the idea of discovering a hidden treasure: a metaphor that runs through the entire project and captures its most intimate and evocative dimension.
