Intro
A Break at La Bassine Mountain Pasture invites you to take a behind-the-scenes look at cheese-making in the heart of the countryside, followed by a tasting
Come and meet a dairy farmer. During a walk far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you’ll discover a whole new world: the mountain pasture. With great enthusiasm, your host will explain how, each year depending on weather conditions, he organises the management of the pastures and livestock, and how he manages his water requirements, whether for grass growth or for the livestock.
Tour programme (approx. 2.00 hours):
Tour focusing on activities related to Gruyère cheese production
Tour of the mountain pasture and the cheese cellar
Refreshments
Choose from two tours:
Morning tour at 8.00 am: cheese-making demonstration followed by coffee with bread and Gruyère
Afternoon tour at 4.00 pm: guided tour and refreshments with bread and cheese
Meeting point: Chalet de la Bassine / GPS coordinates G54M+FW Bassins
Meet at 9.00 am for the morning tour
