As part of the exhibition *Rodin According to Rilke*, organized by the Rodin Museum in Paris, at 6:00 p.m. at the Pierre Gianadda Foundation: A discussion with Jérôme Prieur (Corpus Christi, *Les Sentinelles de l'oubli*, *Les Hommes-Livres*...) on his essay “Champ et contrechamp: Rodin, Shaw, Rilke.” 7:15 p.m., at Le Corso Cinema: *Rodin and Michelangelo: The Song of the Statues* by Jérôme Prieur (52 min.)Focusing on the works themselves, the film portrays the dialogue between these two giants of sculpture, through which these two artistic geniuses—three centuries apart—compete to bring their representations of the body to life. While offering a rare glimpse into sculpture, Jérôme Prieur’s film lets us hear the voice of Michelangelo, the voice of Rodin, and the voices of those who were their first viewers, such as Rainer Maria Rilke. The statues, as we see them today, remain enchanted by these voices from the past. Followed at 8:30 p.m. by: *Rodin*, directed by Jacques Doillon, starring Vincent Lindon and Izïa Higelin (120 min.)In Paris in 1880, the 40-year-old sculptor Auguste Rodin receives recognition from the French government, which commissions him to create the monumental *Gate of Hell*. While living with his partner Rose Beuret, Rodin falls in love with his most gifted student, Camille Claudel, who becomes his assistant and then his lover. A wild and intense passion that lasts 10 years and ends in a painful breakup. Shortly thereafter, Rodin created a portrait of Balzac that caused a scandal and left its mark on art history.
