Themenabend / Helmut Sydekum - Was ist Licht?
Overview
Intro
"What Is Light?" A Brief Introduction to the World of Light and the Limits of Our Imagination
We’ll begin with a look back at past events and a preview of upcoming dates.
What Is Light?
A Fascinating Journey to the Limits of Our Understanding
Light makes our world visible, and yet it remains one of
the greatest challenges we face in our attempt to
understand nature.
Physicist, photographer, and longtime president of the Fotokreis Lörrach,
Helmut Sydekum, takes you on an exciting and accessible
journey through the world of light. Why does light sometimes behave like
a wave and other times like a particle? Is this unique to light?
What does “understanding” actually mean? And where does our imagination
encounter fundamentally insurmountable limits?
Without complicated formulas or any prior knowledge required,
this lecture combines science, wonder, and surprising insights into
the fascinating world of the very, very small.
An inspiring evening for all curious people who would like to
see our world through new eyes.
