Inleiding
On the sunny side of Wildhaus – with a spectacular view to the Churfirsten – this round trip leads from Wildhaus up to the high plateau of Gamplüt and the Alp Fros on the foothills of Schafberg at Wildhaus.
Beschrijving
Toggenburg is not only the seven Churfirsten. Nevertheless, these are of course very pretty. Most impressive are the rocky spikes from a respective distance – from the opposite valley side facing the sun. And this is where this snowshoe trail leads.
From the parking space Chuchitobel it goes via Steinrüti continuously up the sunny slope to Lisigweid. Past a sparse forest the Alp Gamplüt is reached at 1,350 m above sea level on the foothills of the impressive Schafberg at Wildhaus. The sun terrace of the restaurant is perfectly suitable for a rest. During the incline to the tour’s destination, the Alp Fros, it is shortly getting steep again. But once the top is reached, the wonderful view to the Rhine Valley and the striking Churfirsten are worth these efforts.
The trail then leads along Gamplüt and steep down to the starting point. If required the first solar-driven gondola of the world offers a shortcut on 365 days of the year.
De sleutel voor een prettige wandeltocht is onder andere een zorgvuldige planning. Win op voorhand inlichtingen in bij de plaatselijke informatiedienst over de toestand van het traject en de weersomstandigheden. Afhankelijk van het seizoen en de weersomstandigheden kan de route gesloten of onderbroken zijn.
