He used to work in the digestive system, but he was reassigned to the brain’s dopaminergic circuit. So now, everything has to be explained to him: the “always more,” the fear of missing out, self-destructive growth, addictions, added sugar, the Faustian pact that pushes beyond limits, BUT ALSO satisfaction, human curiosity, joy, and the fact that environmental efforts will pay off in the long run.Two performers on stage (Donatienne Amman and Yvan Richardet) push a modular cart that serves, in turn, as a table for scientific experiments, a concert stage, or a puppet theater. “Dopamine” indeed draws on theatrical devices (object theater, special effects, and songs) to shift from intimate drama to musical comedy or oscillate between stand-up comedy and socially engaged scientific exploration.A neural drama about the reward circuit and the pursuit of our desire for “more and more,” presented as a musical that goes off in all directions. An exclusive, enlightening, and humorous artistic offering.
