Inleiding

The Museo Comunale d'Arte Moderna is located in a beautiful palazzo dating back to the 16th century and overlooking the Via Borgo.

It houses an important selection from the permanent municipal exhibition and is home to two foundations, the Marianne Werefkin Foundation and the Richard Seewald Foundation. The municipal art collection goes back to 1922 when many of the artists living in Ascona decided to donate one of their works each for when the foundation stone for a future municipal museum would be laid.
