Inleiding
Unspoiled nature, stretches of forest and impressive views into the distance – all this is the ‘Randenspur’, which leads through the western Randen foothills, popular destination of Schaffhausen’s locals.

At the starting point, the restaurant, Siblinger Randenhaus, a magnificent view right to the Alps awaits you. On Randen’s range of hills, the plateau-like ridge in Canton Schaffhausen, which geologically is part of the Table Jura landscape, you will find tranquillity and unspoiled nature.
Randen’s forests offer perfect conditions for slowing down and relaxing. The trail, Randenspur, impressively and fully shows the diversity of the Schaffhausen-based recreational area. Stretches of forest and meadows alternate.
Starting from the Siblinger Randenhaus, the first few kilometres of the track lead through the forest. Small clearings provide the necessary variety. Historically seen, the Randen area is very interesting, as remains from different historical periods were found here, such as from the time of the Celts, the Romans, and also from the Middle Ages. The trail, Randenspur, continues through the forest to the castle, Schlossranden, whose name is derived from the castle, Burg Walterskirch, which once throned high up on the summit.
Via Zelgli, one of the largest grasslands of Randen’s area, the classic ‘Randenspur’ track leads back through the forest to Winkelacker. From there enjoy the magnificent view of the Alps. A further short section through the forest takes you back to the starting point, the Siblinger Randenhaus.
Other cross-country ski trail entry points to the Zelgli are at the Talisbänkli and Mäserich/Guetbuck car parks.
De sleutel voor een prettige wandeltocht is onder andere een zorgvuldige planning. Win op voorhand inlichtingen in bij de plaatselijke informatiedienst over de toestand van het traject en de weersomstandigheden. Afhankelijk van het seizoen en de weersomstandigheden kan de route gesloten of onderbroken zijn.
