Grey Wolf
This picture by Sean Scully is reminiscent of a chess board whose squares have got jumbled up. Horizontal and vertical stripes are arranged into blocks. The artist painted the picture boxes in different black and white on canvas in several layers. The painting’s title is inspired by the Irish artist’s night time encounter with a wolf in the Pyrenees.
