IWC Museum
Visão geral
Introdução
The headquarters of the famous watchmaker IWC lies on the outskirts of the Old Town of Schaffhausen, directly on the Rhine River. A stylish museum in the elegant historic building takes visitors on a trip through time and the world of legendary watch models.
Nearly 150 years ago, the American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones had a factory built in Schaffhausen, in the orchard of Allerheiligen Monastery. He thereby founded the success story of the famous watch brand IWC. The façade of the protected historic building radiates that simple noblesse that made the company’s watches classics. A few years ago the rooms where watches used to be made were converted into an elegant museum.
Over 230 exhibits are stylishly showcased in artistically lighted display cabinets. Visitors obtain information about each piece from interactive screens. They marvel at the legendary Albert Pellaton Jubilee Watch, or the genealogical trees of famous watch families. A multimedia presentation about the over 150 years of company history completes your trip through time.
